Invitation for the New Session of the Virtual MUN of the MINU

We have the pleasure to address you to invite you to the Seventh Session of the Virtual Model UN of the MINU. This session consists basically of a virtual simulation of the sessions of the United Nations both in English and in Spanish. Our intention is to offer the population the possibility to participate in a diplomatic debate through Internet free of charge, with the conviction that this is a good method of education and promotion of the cultural change between its members.

For this new session numerous innovations have been included in the technological and academic fields with the intention of developing a trustworthy and more dynamic simulation.

We have decided to simulate International Conferences (for the creation of Conventions and Treaties) and to incorporate Regional Organisms as forums of negotiation.

The debates of the Virtual Model take place in Discussion Forums, where the delegations publish speeches, questions, answers and where votes take place. All this in form of messages, and other delegate can read them when they wish. That is to say, it's not in real time. In order to be able to maintain a good quality with a considerable amount of messages, we demand a minimum of participation of 3 times per week.

New technological features of the Seventh Session:
- New Institutional Website of the MINU Organization.
- Java Chat incorporated to the page.
- System of Private Mail (similar to e-mails) within the page.
- News System in the Main Page.
- Delegate Assistance on line with the staff by private chat.
- System of Support Tickets.
- Table of assistance and section of Frequently Asked Questions.
- Greater bandwidth of the Web server.

The system developed for this new session is totally innovating in the world in terms of the development of Models UN and constitutes a great advance towards a more and more real representation of the operation of the
different players in the international scope.

The Seventh Session will be divided in two phases: First plans of action will be elaborated, within different regional organisms, for the preparation of an international conference on the fight against the international terrorism and the second phase of the international conference with the objective will be to create an international convention that among other things defines the term "terrorism", it establishes methods to fight it, and punishes those who finance it. At the same time, a Special Council on the
Middle East will be simulated. It will look into the creation of a new peace accord between Israel and Palestine. This Council will be made up of 15 countries: Israel, Palestine, the U.S.A., China, France, Russian Federation, United Kingdom, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Holy See, and another 5 countries that will be chosen by the Secretary-General between those who request it.

The inscription to the MINU is absolutely free and all you have to do is fill out the registration form in our website www.minu.org, where you will be able to find more information regarding the MINU organization.

Finally, we encourage you to spread this invitation to all your friends, classmates and professors, to be able to extend the participation in the project.
